Biblical Preaching and the Bones of Jesus

Where does preaching intersect with the news? For example, should preachers spend time this Sunday on the controversial subject that just so happened to pop up right before Resurrection Sunday of the finding of the tomb of Jesus and His family?

One approach that I appreciate is Phillip Ryken's. I believe he presents a "Window on the World" each Sunday night in order to keep a biblical worldview mindset in front of his people.

No doubt about it brother... always good to mix in those things as they come up! If we dont respond to those things...who will? I try to use stuff from the news, sports, headlines etc as they hit. Was preaching on encouraging words a few sundays back and Senator Biden's comments about Obama were out that week...fit perfectly with what I was sharing...this past week I was preaching on Being a Team - Works... used a Brian Urlacher statement after Chicago's lose to Indy...tonight I plan on using an example from the MLG&W mess here in memphis for my message from I Peter 2: 13 - 17 and this Sunday I want to weave in this idiotic mess some how...talked about that last night with some folks... Yes! Speak up guys...use whats around you in the headlines as you can...
